In this blog, we tell you more about successfully designing a moving billboard, so you can get a cool, unique, and eye-catching design. A design that truly makes an impact. So: ‘Buckle up! It’s gonna be a bumpy ride, but we promise it’s gonna be okay!’

  1. Inspiration for truck advertising

Start freely and boldly with designing your moving billboard. Because freedom and creativity encourage exploration, free thinking, experimenting, and this leads to the creation we desire. Are you unsure if something works or if the design remains readable? Rest assured, you never have to reinvent the wheel. And do you want inspiration on how other brands did it? Go to our Instagram or LinkedIn profile. There, we regularly post updates about brands that have also chosen to implement trailer-made advertising. Additionally, we are happy to think along with you – and make adjustments if necessary. Below you will find all the considerations you need to take into account during the design process or for writing your briefing for the graphic designer.

  1. Scalability and clear communication

When designing the advertising for the trailer, you need to consider the enormous surface area. Usually, a trailer is 13.6 meters long and 2.65 meters high. Make sure that the design is clearly visible at this scale and that the visual message communicates clearly. The design should be recognizable from a distance, as the time to convey your brand identity is usually short.

  1. The power of simplicity

Avoid trying to communicate too much or turning it into a creative spectacle. Ensure a concise and clear message that can be understood at a glance (see the example of the EasyToys truck below). After all, passersby only have a few seconds to absorb the message. For more extensive information, the back of the trailer is a suitable place. Due to the 100 km rule and traffic jams, you can hold the attention of the passerby there longer.

  1. Consistency and recognizability

If you are consistent in small things, you can achieve great results. Bring your brand book with you and use it during your briefing. Often, it contains examples of advertisements. If not, add them as a mood board so that your truck advertising aligns with all other advertising expressions.

  1. Consistency and recognizability

Dare to attract attention with striking colors and images. What you show must, of course, align with your brand and message. It should also appeal to your target audience, as Miljuschka understands and applies well.

Campaigns with moving billboards on the road

You are not bound to one design for all trucks. Nowadays, clients are increasingly choosing different designs for each truck. For example, we have five different trailers running for INDI and three for XXL Nutrition. This gives you the space to convey multiple advertising messages. Through stickers on the back, you can choose to use this space for promotional purposes. For example, you can test which campaign strategy activates best through a landing page (URL), QR codes, or discount codes.

Do you want to increase reach and recognizability? Building your brand image and authority? Effectively approaching the right target audience? Use Moving Billboards in your marketing mix. Download here our brochure for more information or contact us at 050 23 40 085.
